Position: The Educational Psychology Program is seeking applicants for a full time, permanent tenure-track position (9-month academic year) to teach courses in learning sciences, research methodology, and advise graduate students in educational psychology and other programs in the College of Education, and actively participate in the Learning and Performance Research Center. Duties and
Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to develop a cutting-edge research program with publications in appropriate journals and external funding; supervise graduate students; and teach graduate courses in the Educational Psychology area. Expertise in theories, technologies, and methods associated with Learning Sciences is expected. The person will work closely with the Learning and Performance Research Center (LPRC) which houses many externally funded research projects. The Learning and Performance Research Center (LPRC) is a center that systematically examines learning and performance by leveraging expertise in three complementary areas of inquiry housed within the Educational Psychology program: Psychometrics, Program Evaluation, and Cognition.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate at time of employment in educational psychology, learning sciences, cognitive psychology, or closely related field; demonstrated record of or potential for teaching graduate level courses in the educational psychology area and research methodology; demonstrated record of scholarly productivity. Preferred
Qualifications: Research program in two or more of the following areas: cognitive theory, instructional design, technology, learning sciences, and applications to a variety of professions (e.g., teaching, engineering, STEM, etc.); ability to obtain extramural funding; ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment; understanding of K-12 teaching and educational system; interest in teaching and learning. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
