Assistant / Sous Chef (Part Time)

What is this role?Campus Cooks is looking for an experienced culinary professional to serve as an Assistant/Sous Chef.
This role lies within our Operations department and will report to one of our District Managers while partnering with other members of the Operations Management team.
You will be working at one of the leading college campuses across the country supporting our organization in the relationships you build with Campus Cooks' partners and the creative and healthy menus you build.

The position requires the individual to assist with food preparation, cook elements of meals, and general utility work.
In addition, this role typically is responsible for preparation and maintenance, as well as stocking and maintaining student snack/beverage areas.
At times, the Assistant / Sous Chef may be responsible for providing all food preparation and meal service independently.
This position requires the level of experience and ability to self-manage and provide full service without supervision.
Your mission will be:
You will be an important member of the kitchen team and mediate the relationship with the chapter.
In addition to the relationship, you will be enthusiastic about supporting the execution of the program and finding new ways for the chapter to enhance their experience.
Assist Private Chef in creating fresh, healthy, and delicious meals Interact daily with students/clients providing excellent customer service Cook delicious meals in a timely manner in accordance with site agreement Prepare and maintain salad bar and student snack areas Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of kitchen spaces and equipment Perform dishwashing and general utility work as required Collaborate with Private Chef to design a weekly menu Who you are:
Someone who is passionate about being organized, delivering first-class service, and:
2 to 5 years food preparation experience Knowledgeable with operating kitchen machinery and/or culinary tools Driven to hone existing skills and learn new ones Focused on details and consistency Willing and able to actively listen to client for the purpose of understanding wants and needs You'll really catch our eye if you:
Comfortable with technological tools and web-based applications Are ServSafe Food Protection Manager certified Possess culinary degree or certification Knowledge to cook for dietary preferences such as vegetarian/vegan, dairy/gluten-free, Expertise in some form of specialty cooking - Pastries, sushi, smoking meats, etc.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
