Summary of Duties:
The basic function of this position is to recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and develop student services and operations staff for University Recreation.
This position will be responsible for daily operations of the Student Recreation facility and associated hourly staff including facility supervisors and cashier attendants.
Required
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Business, Recreation, Sport Management, Higher Education or related field) and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area to include a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Master's Degree may be substituted for one year required experience.
o Demonstrated success in personnel training and supervision.
o Demonstrated ability in strategic facility management.
o Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a goal-oriented team.
o Knowledge of Windows based computer system and Microsoft applications.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Master's Degree in Business, Recreation, Sport Management, Higher Education or related field.
o Strong communication, organizational, and leadership/management skills.
o Four or more years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience.
o Experience in higher education recreation or student service setting.
o Demonstrated experience administering risk management practices for recreation programs.
o Experience in working with cash register or point of sale systems.
o Experience in the development and implementation of extensive staff training programs.
o Experience in the development and management of budgets.
o Experience in the management and operations of special events.
o NIRSA membership, RCRSP, and/or involvement.
