Summary of Duties:
The successful candidate will support research efforts in the Knoblauch lab.
Those include standard and special sample preparations for transmission- and scanning electron microscopy, ultramicrotomy, sample staining, imaging, and image analysis.
Furthermore, the technician will perform molecular techniques such as PCR, plant tissue culture, cloning etc.
as necessary.
Finally, the technician will take care of experimental plants in the greenhouses and growth chambers, train undergrad students, and participate in lab meetings.
Required
Qualifications:
An Associate Degree from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program including courses in chemistry and biology OR completion of a course for laboratory assistants, approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, may be substituted for two years of the required experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Two years of experience as a laboratory technician, research aide, or equivalent; OR a bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of science or technology.
Experience in microscopy and molecular biology are desirable.

Range 47 $1,987 to $2,670.
50 (A-M) Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
